Our Beginnings:
It’s impossible to know solar shades, patio coverings and awnings any better than the man who grew up surrounded by them.
Moran Canvas President Michael Moran is a third generation awning manufacturer. The Moran family name made its debut in the awnings and tenting industry in St. Louis, where Michael’s grandfather owned and operated Missouri Tent & Awning. His father then founded the first Moran Canvas in 1958 in Jackson, Mississippi. Throughout his youth, Michael worked alongside his father, watching and learning, then formally joining the company following graduation. He would go on to demonstrate an unparalleled understanding of awning manufacturing, earning the distinguished certification of Master Fabric Craftsman.
In 1988, Michael opened the doors of Moran Canvas in San Diego. What began with one man’s vision is now a premier awning manufacturer in Southern California, with 30 years of success, a large team of employees and partners, and a 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art custom fabrication facility.
Today, Moran Canvas continues to be guided by the same principles that Michael began it with: an unrelenting focus on quality and a committed team that enjoys earning the trust and friendship of its clients. Moran clients know they will receive carefully-fabricated, gorgeous products. We leave a quick, cheap fix to the other guy. Our promise is quality, and we stand behind it.
